HealthStar Tracker is a physical education software program for the iPod
touch, iPhone and iPad.
It is used by PE teachers in the gym, out on the field or at home to
collect student data for the HealthStar Manager program.
This technology will save you time by eliminating double data entry-first
on your clipboard and then into your computer. With HealthStar Tracker
you record student data one time in your iPhone and then, with the push
of a button, synchronize the information with the HealthStar Manager
program on your computer.
HealthStar Tracker is easy to use. Once a new term and classes have been
set up in HealthStar Manager, the next time you 'sync' your iPhone the new
term and classes will be set up in HealthStar Tracker. After that, you
simply select a class, the assessment, and enter scores for your students.
When you sync again, the new scores you entered into your iPhone (or new
scores you enter into HealthStar Manager on your desktop computer) will be
synchronized so the same current data is displayed in both devices.
You will find many features in HealthStar Tracker that speed up data entry.
For example you can enter a body weight score of 98.5 lbs by touching only
the 985 buttons. The decimal is automatically added. You can also touch buttons
843 for a mile run score and it will be automatically converted to 8:43
(8 min. 43 sec.). Assessing motor skills for a large class can be faster than
using a clipboard. With one button you can assign the same (common) score to
all students in the class and then go back and modify the scores for those
students who scored above or below the common score.
If you have an iPhone or iPod touch you can download HealthStar Tracker from
the iTunes App Store. It's free! The software comes with demonstration data
so you can see how all the features work. To enter your own students and
assessment scores you will need to purchase HealthStar Manager and sync your
iPhone with your desktop computer.
HealthStar Tracker is compatible with the iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3
or higher. It requires 6MB of memory. To synchronize with HealthStar
Manager requires wireless access to your school's network.
